The Carr Center with partnership from Tabernacle Missionary Baptist church in Detroit, Michigan, presented The Abyssinians Mass, A Gospel Celebration composed by Wynton Marsalis. The performance featured volcalist Karen Clark-Sheard, with The Gathering Orchestra conducted by Rodney Whitaker and the Carr Center Community Choir conducted by Maestro Damien Sneed.
